PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound field characteristic measuring method, a sound field characteristic measuring system, an amplifier and a sound field characteristic measuring instrument capable of reducing labor and the time required for measuring the characteristics of a sound field generated by a plurality of speakers.;SOLUTION: A measuring signal generation part (signal generation means) generates a plurality of sound signals modulated by pseudo random orthogonal codes corresponding to the plurality of speakers L, C, R, Ls, Rs and SW respectively, and generates input sound signals based on the sound for which the sounds generated by the respective speakers are overlapped on the basis of the respective sound signals. In a sound field measuring part (sound field measuring means) 14, the correlation computation of the input sound signals after prescribed elapsed time from the start of measurement and original sound signals corresponding to the respective speakers is performed while changing the elapsed time. From pseudo randomness and orthogonality, the responses of the sound signals corresponding to the respective speakers are individually obtained, the results of the correlation computation are compared with each other, and the relative delay time of the sound between the speakers is obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
