PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismically retrofitting structure which makes use of an earthquake resistant structure of existing bridge piers, and can reduce horizontal force when horizontal moment more than proof stress of the existing bridge piers occurs.;SOLUTION: The existing bridge 1 is constituted of the bridge piers 3 as lower structures erected between abutments 2, and a bridge girder 4 as a superstructure borne by the bridge piers 3. The seismically retrofitting structure is provided for the existing bridge, and comprised of connecting means for connecting between the abutment 2 and each bridge pier 3, and between the bridge piers 3 adjacent to each other by means of connecting members 8 which are kept sagging.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
