PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote monitoring and controlling system for multiple dwelling house capable of automatically assigning the communication address of a network layer to a remote monitoring and controlling device, without depending on a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), and an address distributing device.;SOLUTION: In the remote monitoring and controlling system 1 for the multiple dwelling house provided with the remote monitoring and control device 13, a center server 11, and a gateway device 12, the gateway device is provided with the address distributing device for receiving provision of an address list showing a correspondence relation between an identifier for identifying and specifying the remote monitoring and control device 13 and the communication address of the remote monitoring and control device 13 from the center server 11, and the remote monitoring and control device 13 receives a communication address corresponding to the identifier of the remote monitoring and control device 13 from the address list by transmitting the previously stored identifier of the remote monitoring and control device 13 to the address distributing device and sets the received communication address as a communication address.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
