PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely and quickly start a shield machine from a shaft constructed by an earth retaining structure and enable arrival at the shaft, while preventing the inflow of sediment from an external part by improving mechanical strength of the earth retaining structure using a steel sheet pile.;SOLUTION: This earth retaining structure 24 is provided with a double steel sheet pile 1 composed of an inside steel sheet pile 14 and an outside steel sheet pile 15 superposably arranged on the inside and outside in a close contact state; and is formed in a shape having a bending molding part 5 of bending the steel sheet pile 2 in a projecting shape or a recessed shape and a horizontal overhang part 6 for horizontally overhanging both ends of the bending molding part 5 and arranging a connecting joint 10 on the tip; and adopts a connecting structure for mutually alternately arranging the inside-outside steel sheet piles 2 by respectively dislocating a half pitch by a half pitch; and uses the double steel sheet pile 1 of the structure even in this starting-arriving construction method of the shield machine 20.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
