PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide vibration-damping material, vibration damping/vibration isolating device satisfying two different requirements to absorb earthquake energy and to have shape recovery function in vibration damping material design and vibration damping/vibration isolating device design.;SOLUTION: In ferrous vibration-damping structure material used for an earthquake-proof structure, ferrous shape memory alloy containing Fe-Mn-Si-based shape memory alloy containing NbC having anelasticity without strain hardening against strain vibration, strain deformation in a large strain amplitude zone in earthquake is used as vibration-damping material for earthquake-proof structure.
