PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact device capable of assuring timely optimized feeding of a complete roll in a roll station and the carrying of a residual roll from the roll station and a simple and secure method for handling the roll and residual roll to save place by timely optimizing the roll and the residual roll.;SOLUTION: This device comprises at least two roll stations 11 in which one is arranged on the rear side of the other so that each of the roll stations 11 can be vertically moved and can receive the complete roll 12. The device also comprises two holding bodies 18 holding the roll 13 under production and having two support arms 22 horizontally movable together with elements releasing the residual rolls 14. All roll stations 11 comprise common transfer routes 15 arranged on the roll stations 11. One end of a long paper 16 unwound by the roll station can be discharged onto the other in the carrying (arrow) direction to a format cutting machine.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
