PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmentally friendly and highly safe additive(ship bottom paint) for the purpose of preventing seashells from sticking.;SOLUTION: Through paying attention to the germicidal activity of wasabi(Wasabia japonica) and the insect-repelling activities of allyl mustard oil as the pungency component of wasabi in its natural components(allyl isothiocyanate) and the essential oils extracted from natural plants including eucalyptus, lavender, lawn and hinoki and also herbs and the like(geranium, Egypt, citronella, Java, eucalyptus, lemon, lavender angustifolia, lemon grass, hinokitiol, catechin), an additive liquid is prepared by compounding materials as a combination of several kinds of these natural extracted essential oils and a combination of several kinds of liquids(Nimes oil, tall oil, olive oil, pine oil, castor oil, etc.) and used after mixing into a ship bottom paint, thus enabling seashells and seaweeds including barnacle to be prevented from sticking.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
