PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safer and positively operated magnetic card type locking device having functions of preventing impulsive unlocking and impeding breaking. PSOLUTION: In this magnetic card type cylinder locking device, a magnetic card key is insertable between a pair of shielding plates 14 and a nonmagnetic cover plate 15, and ball plungers 13 are installed at a front plate 11 and arranged to contact with both side faces of the shielding plates 14. A locking magnet pin retreats from a locking plate 16 by the insertion of the magnetic card key 27, and the shielding plates 14 descend together with a sliding core 17.
