PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an address information acquiring apparatus, an address information acquisition method, and an address information acquisition program, capable of accessing a target destination with a higher probability, when corresponding address information cannot be acquired by a second inquiry applied to an apparatus managing address information items of each apparatus over a network. PSOLUTION: Although a DNS (domain name system) cache memory 221 stores the results of past name resolution, and a TTL update section 225 decreases a TTL of each entry, it will no longer decrease the TTL, when the TTL reaches a value "0". Upon the receipt of a name of an apparatus that is a target of name resolution, a DNS cache control section uses the DNS cache memory 221 to search relevant entry, and when the TTL is greater than the value "0", the IP address is used for a result of the name resolution. When the TTL is less than the value "0", the entry is inquired of a DNS server; and when this inquiry fails, the IP address of the entry is used for a result of the name resolution.
