The renovation of a track component of austenitic steel with a high manganese content comprises a recharging, by homogeneous electric arc welding, with a metal of the same nature as the base metal on the worn zones followed by machining or grinding of the recharged zones in order to bring it back to the dimensional characteristics identical to those of the original new centre track.
