The device has a capacitor comprising an insulator (23) disposed in contact with an external ring (2) of an antifriction bearing, where the ring acts as an electrode and thickness of insulator varies according to applied load. An electrode (22) is disposed between the insulator and a bore (19b) of a sleeve (19). A measuring unit arranged on a support measures capacitance between electrodes, where capacitance represents the load. An independent claim is also included for a machine with revolving drum comprising antifriction bearing that has a load measuring device.
