Production of a free flowing granulated material consists of: (a) screening pumice to obtain pumice with a size of less than 15 mm; (b) agitating the pumice with water; (c) separating the pumice from the water and drying it; (d) mixing one part by weight of sludge from the biological treatment of waste household or industrial water with 0.5 to 0.9 parts by weight of dried pumice to obtain the granulated material. An independent claim is also included for the free flowing granulate produced by this method.
