The process involves determining a simulation instant by calculating input/output current of one electrical circuit component from simplified or complete or mixed models based on the difference between the voltages at the terminals of components. The simplified, complete or mixed model is respectively used if the difference is lesser than a threshold (VS1), greater than a threshold (VS2) or lies between the thresholds.
