The application of an aging treatment for aluminum-lithium C458 alloy comprises producing the alloy in the T3 condition and applying an aging treatment in two stages consisting of: (a) aging the alloy in a first stage of treatment at a temperature of about 175 to 250[deg]F for a duration of about 12 to 192 hours; (b) aging the alloy in a second stage of treatment at a temperature of about 275 to 310[deg]F for a duration of about 12 to 96 hours.
