The espagnolette bolt (16) is mounted along the movable edge (11) of a first leaf (6). Rods (49,50) with bolts (51) are mounted to slide in the frame crosspieces (3,4). Bell cranks (46,47) drive the rods by the movement of espagnolette bolt rods (17). The bolts (51) can thus engage strike plates (52) carried by the pivoting edges (12,13) of the leaves (6,7). To allow opening of the first leaf there are detachable coupling means (68,72) between the bell cranks and the sliding rods. An Independent claim is included fro a bay fitted with the locking bolt.
