摘要

Steel for oil well pipes with a high local corrosion resistance in a CO2 environment and a high seawater corrosion resistance, and a seamless oil well pipe produced from the same steel, wherein this steel comprises more than 0.10 % and up to 0.30 % of C, 0.10 % - 1.0 % of Si, 0.1 % - 3.0 % of Mn, 2.0 % - 9.0 % of Cr, 0.01 % - 0.10 % of Al, or 0.05 % - 0.5 % of Cu in addition thereto, and Fe and unavoidable impurities for the remainder, the content of P of the impurities being not more than 0.03 %, and S not more than 0.01 %, a microstructure of the steel as quenched or normalized being substantially a single phase of martensite, the steel subjected to a heat treatment, such as quenching-tempering or normalization-tempering having a proof stress of not lower than 552 MPa.
