The vessel has a cooking pot (2) with a disc-shaped base (4), a wall (5), a lid (3) and a thermal insulator (11) in an area of the lid. The thermal insulator has a closed foil tube (13), which is evacuated in such a manner that the internal pressure lies within enclosed volumes of the foil tube also during a cooking process below the atmospheric ambient pressure. The enclosed volume is filled with a core by the foil tube.
