A simple automatic locking catch for a drawer has a locking lever (20) fitted onto the side of the drawer, near to the front end via a hinge. One end of the locking lever protrudes through the front of the drawer via a slot. The inner end of the locking lever has a grip slot and a sloping end (21) to slide over a fixed locking catch fitted to the drawer support frame. A spring (25) holds the catch in the locked position. The locking catch is pulled back by finger pressure when the drawer is gripped.
