To retain most of the original lanolin found in sheep's wool, the wool is washed in a salt solution, preferably a sodium chloride solution, at 20 to 40 [deg]C. This is followed by rinsing at 20 to 40 [deg]C and drying in air at 5 to 40 [deg]C. The wool is stored in airtight containers to prevent loss of volatile components.
