The roof tile (10) has a head section with a mounting face on its lower surface and a water groove section and a cover groove section. The water groove section (12) has an inclined face extending in the longitudinal direction of the water groove area arranged at an acute angle to the cover face. The acute angle is in the range of five to forty degrees, preferably between twenty and thirty degrees.
