Air purification device has electrically conductive housing and dust collector element with unit for generating negatively charged ions in dependence on control signals from detection unit
The air purification device has a housing (20) made of an electrically conductive material with air inlet (21) and outlet (26) and containing a ventilator unit (22) for drawing in air. A dust collector element (24) of electrically conductive material is mounted in the housing adjoining the air outlet and a unit (23) for generating negatively charged ions in the housing has an ionizing member (230) spaced therefrom. A detection unit (31) issues a control signal according to the collection of dust in response to a change in the electrical property of the housing and an energy supply control unit (30) can be operated to supply electrical energy to the unit for generating negatively charged ions and can be switched off in dependence on a control signal from the detection unit. The dust collection unit is a perforated metal plate.
