The drive (10) has an auxiliary propeller (14) arranged in a drive shaft (15) of a main propeller (12) and fastened to a rotor of a split-phase electric motor. The drive is designed as a jet propulsion with a circular nozzle. The drive has an electrical ring motor with an external stator ring and an internal stator. The ring is constructed as the nozzle, when the auxiliary propeller blades are fastened to inner side of internal stator. An independent claim is also included for a ship, in particular container ship with an auxiliary drive.
