An improved design of front loader has the attachment (5), e.g. bucket or scraper blade, mounted on the front of the machine via two linked arms (4, 3). The inner arm is mounted by a tilt axis (8) on a swivel mounting (2). Two hydraulic cylinders are mounted between the swivel plate and the arms, with one cylinder (6) between the inner arm mounting and the joint (9) between the two arms, and the other cylinder (7) between a tilt mounting (8) on the swivel plate and the rear part of the outer arm (4). The system enables the operator to reach over obstructions, reach down into excavations or retract the arms and attachment into a stable position for driving over uneven ground.
