A titration device analyzes a sample of urine to determine the risk of uretorolith formation. The assembly has a light source (2), a light sensor (3) and a measuring head (1) that is immersed in the sample. The device comprises a light source (2), a light sensor (3), and a measuring head (1) for immersion in the examined liquid sample, provided with a waveguide for absorbing the light from the light source and guiding the light to the light sensor. The light source has a cavity (5) that acts as a break in a waveguide, and is open to ingress by the sample fluid. An independent claim is included for an analytical process using the above device.
