Calcium silicate hydrate bound offset blocks are prepared from calcium oxide component, silica component, gas concrete powder and pumice, aqueous composition being molded in presence of saturated water vapor and hydrothermally hardened
Calcium silicate hydrate bound offset blocks are prepared from a starting composition comprising (wt%): CaO 5 - 15; SiO, especially powdered quartz, 3 - 10; gas concrete powder 35 - 50; and pumice 35 - 50. The aqueous composition is molded in the presence of saturated water vapor and then hydrothermally hardened. An independent claim is included for a method for making the blocks by mixing gas concrete powder, a silica component, pumice and optionally fly ash and adding a CaO component and water to produce a moldable mass. This is left for some time in a reactor. After which it is molded and hydrothermally hardened.
