The assembly has an upper range with a hinge mechanism linked to the body of a vehicle which in a closed position can be locked. Before the hatchback assembly reaches the closing position a body-lateral counterpart (8) intervenes, and so the hatchback moves in a direction with a delay due to the weight (fG) and due to the strength of a gas-filled strut (FF), which serves as an opening assistance and also compensates for the closing of hatchback. The body-lateral counterpart is a swivel arm (5), with an end linked at the body with the end intervening when hatchback is closing.
