The road compacting machine (1) contains a motor driving an out-of-balance weight. It may have a curved baseplate (2) with a clamp (6) at one edge holding a carrier (5) and adapter element (4). The underside of this element acts as a road metal compaction surface (3). There is a removable connecting element (8) for a small-area compacting shoe to apply a high pressure to the road surface using a second surface (9).
