Method for actively structuring a break or waiting period has the following steps: manual or automatic data input relating to a particular waiting time, evaluation of the data and determination of a predicted waiting time and, based on the calculated predicted waiting time, output of suggested activities for filling the time until waiting will be over. An independent claim is made for a device for actively structuring a waiting, queuing or break time.
