Vehicle speed limiting method, involves providing limiting speed of vehicle based on actual position, saving speed along with position, and limiting speed to saved speed on recognizing signs, when vehicle comes back to position
The method involves determining an actual position of a vehicle using a global positioning system antenna (6), and providing a limiting speed of the vehicle in advance dependent on the actual position. The limiting speed along with the actual position of the vehicle is saved. The speed of the vehicle is limited to the saved speed on recognizing traffic signs (4, 12), when the vehicle comes back to its actual position. An independent claim is also included for a speed limiting system for a vehicle.
