Supply pressure limiting method for brake cylinder of rail vehicle, involves limiting supply pressure by moving piston to one position, in which valve of pressure limiting valve is closed if brake pressure reaches preset upper limit value
The method involves steering a supply pressure (R) by moving a piston (26) to a position, in which a valve (24) of a pressure limiting valve (2) is opened if a brake pressure (C) is less than a predetermined upper limit value. The supply pressure is limited by moving the piston to another position, in which the valve (24) is closed if the brake pressure reaches the upper limit value. The valve (24) creates a connection between supply pressure entrance and exit based on the piston position. An independent claim is also included for a brake assembly of a rail vehicle and comprising a pressure limiting valve for executing a method of limiting supply pressure for the brake pressure of brake cylinder of the vehicle.
