The testing device has a fluid-filled space containing a reception device for an intraocular lens (IOL) to be tested, a transparent test object, e.g. a plate (P), with an associated light source (L), supported for measured displacement along the optical axis of the intraocular lens and a further lens (C) on the opposite side of the intraocular lens to the test object, with a detector (D) on the outside of the fluid-filled space for receiving an image of the test object provided by the intraocular lens and the further lens.
