The facility to control domestic electrical appliances employs optical data transmission between the electronic control unit and the operator/display unit. Furthermore the optical communication is employed with all electrical components of the electrical appliance e.g. operator unit (220), display unit (210), sensor unit (130), power modules, control modules, switching modules or connection circuits between two electrical appliances and/or the Internet. The data signals are transmitted via fibre optic cables. The use of optical data transmission eliminates disturbing pulses and leads to a more secure operation of the domestic electrical appliances.
