Grinding of iron ore or iron concentrate comprises grinding material in circulation in material bed roll mill, in which fraction of ore or concentrate is classified into oversize material and fines
Iron ore or iron concentrate (4) is ground by grinding material in circulation in material bed roll mill (1). A fraction of the ore or concentrate is recirculated to the bed roll mill and the other fraction is classified into oversize material (8) and fines (9). The oversize material is returned to the material bed roll mill. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for grinding iron ore or iron concentrate comprising material bed roll mill and separating arrangement (2) for dividing the ore or concentrate into first material stream (6) that is recirculated to the material bed roll mill and a second material stream (7). There is a wet classifier (3) that classifies the second material stream into oversize material and fines. There is a mechanism for transporting the oversize material from the wet classifier to the material bed roll mill.
