The use of the angiotensin II receptor antagonist telmisartan (I) (or its salt) and the 3-hydroxy-2-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase inhibitor simvastatin (II) is claimed in the production of medicaments (A) for the treatment or prophylaxis of cardiovascular, cardiopulmonary or renal diseases. Independent claims are included for corresponding treatment methods and pharmaceutical compositions.
