An in-situ coating composition based on linseed oil derivatives has as its main component a linseed oil epoxide of epoxide number above 10 which is reacted with polycarboxylic acids or anhydrides such as citric acid, phthalic-, trimellitic- or pyromellitic anhydride or an ethylene terephthalate pre-polymer. The reaction is catalyzed by a mixture of phosphoric acid and linseed oil methyl ester dihydroxide.
