Bayesian network based expert system e.g. for diagnosis, risk analysis and functional restoring for vehicles, has each functional component having behavior variable, and control variables from variable mode
The system has for each functional component a behavior variable, and control variables. In a first propagation mode, a change in status is shown for a variable of a junction tree on all variables. A diagnostic algorithm is specified for a condition allocation of the mode variables. In a following propagation the effect is fixed based on the conditions of the mode variables of the behavior variables computed and an evaluation algorithm. The possible conditions of the behavior variable have a function calculated as a re- establishment as defectively diagnosed functional component.
