Tool esp. for non-cutting forming of internal thread for screw connections has turnable forming part and pressure application parts moving along forming curve
The tool has a forming part (3) turning about a tool axis (A), a series of pressure application parts (7) moving along a forming curve which extends spirally/helically around the axis. The pressure volumes of the parts are mainly the same. The relative radial distance between pressure application parts increases against the advance direction of the tool. The parts are mounted on an outer surface of a tool core (5) with constant diameter. The forming part is polygonal and has three, four, five, or six corners. The tool has an internal channel for a medium, esp. coolant and/or lubricant, with an outlet at the tool end away from the shaft (2), or near the forming part and/or a guide section (4).
