The system comprises a coolant control valve (50) so that the suction gas temperature can be adjusted and/or regulated by influencing the coolant flow through the exhaust gas cooler (32) with consideration of measured values and/or model-technically determined values. The exhaust gas cooler is arranged in a separate heat exchanger circuit (46). An independent claim is also included for the method of influencing the suction gas temperature and thus the power level in combustion chamber of a combustion engine.
