The device has a seismic mass (2) clamped in a housing (1) to move in only one direction, at least one first and second magnet (3,4) attached to the housing, at least one coil (7) in the magnetic field and connected to an electric circuit from which electrical energy is tapped. The magnets are opposed with identical poles in the mass's direction of motion. The first magnet is connected to the mass, a pole shoe (5) is arranged on each pole of the second magnet and coils are wound around them. A soft iron pole shoe is attached to the mass to protrude between the poles of the second magnet. An independent claim is also included for the following: (a) a vehicle with a seismic generator.
