NOVEL SILICA-DIPPED POLYMERIZATION CATALYST FOR POLYOLEFINS HAVING WIDE DISTRIBUTION OF MOLECULAR WEIGHT, AND ITS PREPARATION METHOD BY DIPPING MAGNESIUM DIHALIDE, ALKYL ALUMINOXANE AND TITANIUM COMPOUND INTO SURFACE-MODIFIED SILICA IN TURN
PURPOSE: Provided are a novel silica-dipped polymerization catalyst for polyolefins having a wide distribution of molecular weight which is excellent in activity, and its preparation method. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of modifying the surface of silica to prepare a modified silica having a modified surface; dipping magnesium dihalide into the modified silica; dipping an alkyl aluminoxane into the obtained silica; and dipping a titanium compound into the obtained silica. Preferably the dipping content of the magnesium dihalide is 1.0-5.0 mmol/g, the dipping content of the alkyl aluminoxane is 1.0-100 Al/Mg mol and the dipping content of the titanium compound is 0.1-2.0 mmol/g or 1.0-50 Al/Ti mol, based on the amount of the silica. Preferably the alkyl aluminoxane is represented by the formula 1 or 2, and is at least one compound which is soluble in an aromatic hydrocarbon and is hardly soluble in an aliphatic hydrocarbon, wherein R is a C1-C8 alkyl group; and n is an integer of 1-100. Preferably the titanium compound is selected from a compound represented by (RO)nTiX(4-n), wherein R is a C1-C20 hydrocarbon group; X is Cl, Br, I or a pseudo-halide; and n is an integer of 0-4.
