PURPOSE: A device and method for manufacturing bead array, and a method for detecting a target substance using the same are provided, thereby accurately supplying the beads with fixed probes consisting of nucleic acids or proteins on the surface to a target reaction site of a solid-phase substrate. CONSTITUTION: The device(10) for manufacturing bead array comprises a substrate(11); a cartridge holder(carriage) (12) which moves in forward and backward in a X-axis direction; a table(13) which moves in forward and backward in a Y-axis direction which is perpendicular to the X-axis direction; a suction unit(14) for filling the discharging solution on the cartridge holder(12); and a carriage and table operating portion(15), wherein the cartridge holder(carriage) (12) comprises a discharging head; the discharging head comprises a liquid receiving means which receives liquid containing the biological material-fixed beads; a liquid discharging means which discharges the liquid containing the biological material-fixed beads on a target reaction site on the solid-phase substrate; the liquid discharging means uses ink-jet method; the liquid receiving means separately receives two kinds of different liquid; the biological material is nucleic acid or protein; the bead size is 0.02 to 10 micrometer; the solid-phase substrate is microtiter plate; and the reaction site is formed on the wells of the substrate surface.
