PURPOSE: A method for routing an energy-based VLC(Virtual Link Cost) mobile ad hoc network is provided to use a packet routing algorithm based on energy states of mobile nodes when carrying out a packet routing process, thereby equalizing energy consumption in accordance with the packet routing process of the mobile nodes while extending an operational time of an ad hoc network. CONSTITUTION: When a packet is routed through a mobile node C(101) from a mobile node A(101), the packet is routed via the shortest path like 'A-B-C'. Since energy of a mobile node B(101) is used up, an energy step of the mobile node B(101) is increased to 2 from 1. An VLC of a mobile node B(100) is reoperated. VLCs of mobile nodes D and E are increased to 3 through a VLC operation step. The VLC of the mobile node B(100) is increased to 7 through the operation of the VLC. A routing path is re-changed into 'A-D-E-C' to have a minimum path cost.
