PURPOSE: A device and a method for recognizing a self-position of an intelligent system using artificial marks for auto-cruise, and the intelligent system using the same are provided to form the artificial marks detected from an image pictured by a camera installed to the intelligent system regardless of positions that the camera views the mark. CONSTITUTION: A projection invariant information calculator(361) calculates projection invariant information of the artificial mark detected from the pictured image. A searcher(363) obtains global position information of the detected artificial mark by searching a database with use of the calculated projection invariant information. The database stores an ID number and the projection invariant information according to color combination of polygons included in the artificial mark, and the global position information of the artificial marks. A position information analyzer(365) analyzes the position of the intelligent system by using the global position information of the detected artificial mark, and the position information between the intelligent system and the detected artificial mark.
