PURPOSE: A method for strain composition in a hull stress monitoring system is provided to estimate moment components by analyzing decomposition rates measured in a long base strain gauge. CONSTITUTION: If a hull stress monitoring system is operated, a long base strain gauge is operated(202) and decomposition rates and real-time data are collected(203). Stress is calculated by multiplying a section coefficient by collected decomposition rates(204). Stress components and moment components according to component analysis of the decomposition rate are calculated by employing the collected decomposition rates(205). The measured moment components and the measured stress components are output(206). Allowable stress and moment are determined based on the output result(207).
