PREDISTORTER FOR A PHASE SHIFT SIGNAL HAVING A LOW PEAK TO AVERAGE RATIO, SPECIALLY IN CONNECTION WITH IMPROVING CHANNEL POWER AND/OR EVM(ERROR VECTOR MAGNITUDE) PERFORMANCE
PREDISTORTER FOR A PHASE SHIFT SIGNAL HAVING A LOW PEAK TO AVERAGE RATIO, SPECIALLY IN CONNECTION WITH IMPROVING CHANNEL POWER AND/OR EVM(ERROR VECTOR MAGNITUDE) PERFORMANCE
PURPOSE: A predistorter for a phase shift signal having a low peak to average ratio is provided to improve EVM(Error Vector Magnitude) performance for a given set of RF power amplifiers, so that the amplifiers can operate at output level much nearer to a saturated power rating, thereby satisfying a given output standard while selecting a low-power rating element. CONSTITUTION: A polynomial generator(20) receives an RF input signal, and generates a predistortion function based on the received RF input signal. A coupling circuit(22) is coupled with the polynomial generator(20), and combines the RF input signal for forming a predistortion input signal with the predistortion function. The predistortion input signal operates to improve either a channel power adjacent to an RF power amplifier(12) or an EVM performance.
