PURPOSE: A home network system and a configuration device therefor are provided to effectively configure a new master device in the home network system consisting of more than one master device which is already configured, and to realize information synchronization between the master devices. CONSTITUTION: At least more than one of slave devices(22,24) is comprised. Plural master devices(28) are connected with the slave devices(22,24) through a predetermined network. At least one of the master devices(28) consists of a master unit which can control operations of the slave devices(22,24) or monitoring states of the slave devices(22,24), and a slave unit which responds to a request of other master device. The master unit and the slave unit are logically independent of each other.
