PURPOSE: A method and system for providing information using a standby answering time of a called party and a communication method therefor are provided to provide useful information to a caller during an answering time of a called party and minimize a burden for a change in a communication network. CONSTITUTION: A ring-back tone desired by a called party is provided through interworking between a termination MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(10-n) and a destination terminal unit(20-n). Namely, when the destination terminal unit(20-n) receives a destination call from the termination MSC(10-n), the destination terminal unit(20-n) transmits ring-back tone substitute information to the termination MSC(10-n). Then, the termination MSC(10-n) provides the ring-back tone substitute information received from the destination terminal unit(20-n) as a ring-back tone to an origination terminal unit(20-1).
