APPARATUS AND A METHOD FOR STORING A RECEIVED MESSAGE IN THE PHONEBOOK OF A MOBILE PHONE, ESPECIALLY CONCERNED WITH AUTOMATICALLY, IMMEDIATELY, AND EXACTLY STORING A RECEIVED SHORT MESSAGE IN THE PHONEBOOK OF A MOBILE PHONE
PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for storing a received message in the phonebook of a mobile phone is provided to rapidly record and store the other side's phone number, E-mail address, and name in the phonebook of a mobile phone by automatically and immediately recording and storing a received short message in the phonebook if the received short message has a flag signal. CONSTITUTION: If a mobile terminal receives a short message(S200), a control part judges whether a flag signal is detected from the received short message(S210). If a flag signal is detected from the received short message, the control part automatically stores the short message in a phonebook. At the same time, the control part displays the short message through a display part(S220). However, in case that a flag signal is not detected, the control part records and stores the received short message in an inbox and displays it through the display part(S230). Then the control part judges whether the user wants to move the short message to the phonebook(S240).
