PURPOSE: To provide a method for injecting slag deoxidizer after tapping completion and controlling Al content in molten steel, CaO/Al2O3 ratio in slag and gas flow rate during vacuum degassing treatment, thereby stably reducing content of sulfur in molten steel contained in vacuum tank degasser to reduce internal quality defects of slab, coil and plate due to center segregation of sulfur in molten steel. CONSTITUTION: In a method for refining molten steel, the method for desulfurizing molten steel in a vacuum tank degasser comprises a step of injecting 0.2 to 0.5 kg of slag deoxidizer per ton of molten steel into molten steel that completed tapping from a converter; a step of controlling content of aluminum to 0.050 to 0.060 wt.% by adding aluminum to molten steel; a step of controlling a CaO/Al2O3 ratio in slag in a ladle to 2.0 to 2.5; and a step of performing degassing treatment on molten steel in the vacuum tank degasser while blowing one gas selected from Ar gas and N2 gas into molten steel in a flow rate of 0.060 to 0.152 Nm¬3/hr per ton of molten steel.
