ACTIVATED CARBON FELT HAVING SUPERIOR ABSORPTION PERFORMANCE MANUFACTURED BY HEAT TREATMENT USING ORDINARY FELT, FINE ADSORPTION POWDER AND AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF SOLID ACID AND NITROGEN COMPOUND, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
ACTIVATED CARBON FELT HAVING SUPERIOR ABSORPTION PERFORMANCE MANUFACTURED BY HEAT TREATMENT USING ORDINARY FELT, FINE ADSORPTION POWDER AND AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF SOLID ACID AND NITROGEN COMPOUND, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
PURPOSE: To provide an inexpensive activated carbon felt excellent in absorption property and heat resistance by impregnating an ordinary felt with an aqueous solution of solid acid and nitrogen compound, adding fine adsorption powder to the impregnated felt and heat treating the resulting material at a nitrogen atmosphere, and a method for manufacturing the activated carbon felt inexpensively. CONSTITUTION: The activated carbon felt having absorption performance is characterized in that it is a carbonized activated carbon filter in which fine adsorption powder selected from activated carbon powder, acid clay powder and zeolite powder is bonded to the surface of a felt type solid acid ammonium ester compound fiber. The manufacturing method of activated carbon felt having absorption performance comprises a step of forming a cellulose solid acid ammonium ester compound by impregnating a cellulose based fiber structure(felt) with an aqueous solution of solid acid and nitrogen compound, adding an aqueous solution of fine adsorption powder selected from activated carbon powder, acid clay powder and zeolite powder to the impregnated felt, drying the fine adsorption powder added felt, and heat treating the felt at a nitrogen atmosphere while increasing temperature of the felt to 200 deg.C; and a step of increasing temperature of the cellulose solid acid ammonium ester compound to a temperature range of 200 to 400 deg.C at a nitrogen atmosphere so that the fine adsorption powder is bonded to the surface of the cellulose solid acid ammonium ester compound, and the cellulose solid acid ammonium ester compound is carbonized.
